The year 2021 has arrived, ushering in a new era in hiring and recruitment. But, in the midst of a pandemic, what does talent acquisition look like?
The quick answer is that it's all digital, and it's all digital. The traditional hiring process has been more difficult than ever this year, thanks to Covid-19, as recruiters and candidates tried to adapt to a wholly remote encounter. However, seismic transformations are already occurring, both in terms of how organisations hire and the qualities they want in 2021.
The pandemic has hastened digital transformation across practically all industries, prompting businesses of all sizes to speed their digital initiatives. According to a Sage survey, 24 percent of firms have begun to use AI for talent acquisition, with 56 percent of managers aiming to do so in the next 12 months. Today, staying ahead of the competition is critical for businesses - the fight for talent is fierce, and it's quite likely that competitors are already utilising digital tools in their recruitment processes.
The employee experience is improved when technology is used to improve specific HR and recruitment activities. Furthermore, by digitising major portions of the onboarding process, HR can focus on strategic issues and assist managers with any role-specific onboarding processes. Digital technologies have also proven to be effective in assisting new staff in swiftly acclimating and adding value. Google discovered that implementing an onboarding programme increased new hire productivity by 15%. To help with assimilation, some organisations designate online mentors, while others establish orientation webpages with commonly asked questions.
